This policy describes how Pin and Ward by Joshua Spahr ("Pin and Ward," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you visit www.pinandward.com and pinandward.com. Pin and Ward is an educational encyclopedia about the history, mechanics, and technology of locks. It is not a locksmith service site and does not take quote requests, schedule jobs, or sell locksmith work.

The encyclopedia is published by Joshua Spahr. A related trade site, A Better Locksmith, is a separate website with its own practices.

Information We Collect

Information you provide. This encyclopedia does not include contact forms, quote forms, accounts, or comment systems. If you email the publisher about this site, you share whatever you put in that message (typically a name, email address, and the question you ask).

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, the host may record ordinary server logs such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, referring URL, and the time of the request. Those logs are used to operate and protect the site (for example, diagnosing errors or abuse), not to build advertising profiles.

Server logs are kept only as long as needed for operations, security, and ordinary hosting practice. Email you send about this encyclopedia is kept as long as needed to answer you and then as ordinary correspondence records require.
